|Gregg Pachkowski was born in the upper Peninsula of Michigan where his father was stationed as a B-52 pilot. Within a year, the family moved back to New Jersey; Gregg grew up in Sayreville (also the hometown of Jon Bon Jovi). He graduated from Boston University, worked in the television & film industry for a few years and then moved to Florida to study at the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies in Daytona Beach. Gregg fell in love with the Sunshine State and has been here ever since. |
Gregg has worked as a staff photojournalist at two (non-related) News Journal newspapers – first in Daytona Beach and now in Pensacola at the PNJ. In between, Gregg owned a photography business for several years in Gainesville where he also volunteered his time with several charities including the Children’s Miracle Network and Children’s Home Society. In addition, Gregg has been photographing around the world for Habitat for Humanity International since 1999.
Although Gregg has only been in Pensacola for a year now, he has felt at home since the start. He is all over Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties covering everything from sports to breaking news for the PNJ. As he puts it, “The people are wonderful, the weather is fantastic, and who doesn’t love the awesome beaches? Plus, I really like history and what could be better than living in the oldest city in the United States?”
Gregg is excited to participate in Life’s A Dance and to help raise money for such a great cause.
